Las Vegas, NV (May 30, 2012) – As predicted more than 10 years ago, (R)etail has become the hottest distribution channel with U.S. e-commerce sales predicted to grow 62% to $327 billion, according to Forrester Research (February 2012). Today’s e-consumers look for status and targeted assortments, in addition to a compelling experience enriched by a social networking component.

In collaboration with GCI Magazine, Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) conference attendees will learn how women really feel about online shopping from a customized study done by TotalBeauty for CPNA. They will learn how the right items and pricing structures are achieved with brand partners on member-only sites such as HauteLook, as well as, gain insight into newer models such as OpenSky, which takes a different approach to traditional shopping and helps create a unique experience.

Moderated by Jeff Falk, editor-in-chief of GCI Magazine, the “The Retail Landscape: Alternative Channels” session will be held at Cosmoprof North America on Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Paula Scandone | HauteLook | Vice President of Beauty – Paula Scandone leads the team at HauteLook that is responsible for acquiring and maintaining strong partnerships with top brands in the beauty industry. Scandone is a seasoned beauty executive, with over 20 years of experience as a buyer, planner and merchandiser. Before joining HauteLook, she most recently served as the Divisional Merchandising Manager for ULTA Beauty. Scandone will talk about the business model, consumer engagement and merchandising philosophy of HauteLook.

Allison Slater | OpenSky | General Manager of Beauty and Healthy Living – Allison Slater is responsible for the merchandising, planning, marketing and talent relations for beauty and healthy living at OpenSky. Prior to OpenSky, she was Vice President of Marketing at Sephora where she spent over 11 years as part of the team that grew the business from 25 doors to over 300 in North America. Slater will discuss the newest beauty category launch at OpenSky and how they have incorporated groups of “tastemakers” and experts to build a successful model in a competitive industry.

Ethelbert Williams | Total Beauty Media Group | Head of Marketing – Ethelbert Williams leads trade marketing, network audience growth, and distribution opportunities at Total Beauty Media Group. His brand marketing experiences span some of the largest global beauty corporations in the world, including Procter & Gamble and L’Oreal Paris. He was also a brand manager on the Axe male grooming business at Unilever. Williams will share a special customized report based on feedback received from women of the TotalBeauty community on their feelings related to online shopping.
